Why do pet stores have more merchandise for dogs than cats?

The answer lies in the fact that dogs are more naturally outgoing and active than cats, so they require more gear to keep them safe and entertained. From collars and leashes to toys and treats, dogs tend to require more items to keep them happy and healthy. Cats, on the other hand, are known for their independent nature and can make do with less. So while cats do have their fair share of accessories, they don't need nearly as much as their canine counterparts.
